If you were going to write a book (or a newsletter or a short story or a...), what would it be about?
gentle coaching from Jen and the chance to support each other
So many of us want to write a book. Or an essay. Or a story. Or a newsletter. Or…
But we need encouragement. We need help developing our ideas, putting all the bits and pieces together, and most all, help to keep going.
Sometimes we need help knowing it’s not too late to write, to say what we want to say, to learn whatever craft we need to get our story or ideas across.
I’m a writing coach and a writer with a long career and I struggle with all of these doubts (every day!) so you are not alone.
I’d love to be your coach today AND use the power of this supportive community to lift you up and help you keep going.
It’s easy! In the comments:
Introduce yourself very briefly.
Tell us about your project, your ideas, your inkling, your hunch. You could be on your final draft or have a handful of scrawled pages of thoughts or this may be the first time you’ve articulated what you want to write. ALL IS WELCOME. ALL IS AWESOME.
Tell us about why you want to write your project. Why does it matter to you?
After you post, show another writer some love.
NO ADVICE and no criticism. Please only positive “I would love to read that” or “That sounds so interesting!” or “Please keep going.” Whatever feels true and positive.
If you have a specific writing coaching question for me, please ask. I will do my best to answer briefly and with love.
I know it can be scary to be seen. But it’s essential practice for believing in your idea and yourself as a writer.
I’ll go first but you’ll have to click the purple button to see what I said.
I would love to support you. Just click here:

I’m writing a novel about a magical school for middle-aged women who learn to use magic to buy humanity time from the climate crisis.
When I read Harry Potter, I kept thinking, “Why do the kids get to go to Hogwarts, I want to go!” In my novel, there are magic classes! and a toxic billionaire trying to steal all the magic (of course), and a mother-daughter fight that begins our story.

I email once a month and include writing resources and what I’m reading. Easy unsubscribe always.
