First of all, thank you. I feel this to my core, in my bones. So thank you for the reminder and the fierceness I feel in your Truth Telling. We need Truth now more than ever. My magic comes from what I’ve lived - being able to walk alongside people through the dark and to hold the light of hope, of possibility somehow. My magic is bringing compassion to those who are overlooked, misunderstood, or worse. My magic shines when I show up and help people step back from the chaos to see a bigger picture, take a fresh perspective, and learn to listen to their own hearts and souls.

My magic is my sensitivity. I used to think it was a curse when I was young but one day I realized it is a gift of the highest order. My sensitivity helps me help others because I’m grounded and keyed into them.

That’s beautiful. I love when something that’s been framed as not helpful becomes a gift!

I'm first going to add to the flow of GRATITUDE for your posts and views. As always, they are a balm.

My magic is inspiring people to believe they are worthy of their dreams. I can see what they ache for and show them that it's possible. There's a first step, a second... I am great at helping people believe in their heart's desire and their power to have it. (Yes, Glinda and Dorothy rolled into one). I am their first cheerleader as they set off on their yellow brick road.

Honestly, this is why I write the romances I do - to show that ache in my characters and the support and growth to get there (oh... and an amazing loving relationship too!)

My magic is attention. The ability to pay deep attention to what is in front of me, be it a sister sharing, a blank sheet of art paper or my loom. Weaving is an ancient craft. I can't help but think there were some witches in the past, binding spells into their woven cloth. Or how about a simple but powerful binding spell as the yarns travel under and over? Or the spell of making beauty out of chaos when I'm making art, letting that ripple through. Or the spell of listening and letting that be a power generator for the one sharing.... So much delicious and powerful energy coming from just thinking about this. Thank you Jen!

My magic is putting paint to a canvas and trying to make something beautiful. I once told someone that the way I think about my art is that anyone could do it if they just knew the steps. Like step #1, "make this mark here in this space exactly like this expert..." She reminded me that what is on the canvas or the watercolor paper came from within me and my own thoughts, imagination, and spirit. No one else could do it exactly like me.

My magic is to teach people how to use Excel (the most data of all data things in the world :-)) and let it be a source of power/confidence rather than a source of shame.

My magic is being able to meet a teen girl where she is and mentor her into believing in the power of her own voice. To show up week after week with fun writing activities so she learns to express herself authentically. And develops the self-confidence to speak her truth. Because we need her to be able to become an effective advocate for future generations. Just as we are trying to be effective ones right now.

Oh—and I possess the magic of critical thinking that cuts through BS like a magic wand. 😉

My magic is endless, it evolves and changes depending on the circumstance. The problem is that sometimes (a lot of times) I forget that I am magic, that I have magic. Thank you for the reminder. ❤️

So true! “Magic reminds us we have power.” My magic is my capacity for deep listening to myself and others, and helping women hear their own inner wisdom, too. My magic is also my hedonistic passion and enthusiasm for life! ✨

My magic is also loving people and easily forming community and deep friendships.

Jennifer, this couldn't have come at a better time for me. I have written an essay on my experience as a teacher for adult ESL learners -- recent immigrants from around the word. I've been wanting to share it or submit it for publication but I've been gripped by fear. Seeing all the backlash against people who want to give a voice to people who are suffering has really scared me. Maybe I need to lean into some magic?

Mate your magic has something to do with how you bring things and people and resources together to make something more or new. Does that make any sense? You are also amazingly good at loving.
