This was like a few moments of being on retreat with you! I wish I could swing September, but I’ll see you in April!! Thanks for the witchy resistance tips, Jen. Super helpful (she says as she listens to ocean waves lapping the shore in St. Thomas….)

St Thomas!! Gosh the last time I was there was to teach writing and I swam in the bioluminescence- great memory. Have a wonderful relaxing time!

This witchy practitioner is weighing in to say this post is perfectly timed for the Pisces new moon tomorrow. 🌙 ✨

What a great time to let the news go dark for a day or two (I promise civilization will not end). Then let yourself rest, daydream, and conjure up images of the world you want to see. At this stage of the cycle it’s not super important to have action steps defined (that comes around the first quarter moon).

Pisces is a mutable water sign that thrives on unity consciousness. Let those possibilities swim in the deepest ocean of your imagination. Jot them down if you feel moved.

Rest is revolutionary if we are going to play the long game. May your dreams lead the way to great healing and joy.

So needed this today. Absolutely love your postcards; I've also been collaging. And decoupaging hearts that say "choose love" or "fix your hearts or die" (David Lynch). And discharging some of the fury by writing absurd versions of my internal rants. Also letting myself occasionally admit that it is all too much and I need a day to fill the well.

These are really great tips. I love the one about breadcrumbs, and the 5 minutes more is so important to remember when the moment feels unbearable.

Thanks for all the practical tips Jen, many I already do, but need the reminder that they work. It also helps to know others are fighting the madness daily to keep their creative work going. It's a struggle. Sometimes I let myself think its because my story isn't working, that I've lost my desire to get my story out in the world. But it isn't me, it's them. It's the world on fire. We have to keep going.

That’s a key distinction- it’s not your desire, it’s the bozos!

Just what I needed. Thanks, Jen! PS...I'm doing a crazy amount of underlining as I'm reading "Why Bother."

I put on a 'witch' hat last night and left a strong comment on YouTube (where latest MAGA political news was available in short interviews etc) saying what I felt about the orange man's desire to "own" Canada. I live in Canada, the 2nd largest country in the world, a wonderful social democracy, and "he" wants to make it the 51st state. I expressed what I felt as politely as I could, without being at all repressed. It felt so good to just say it like it is! Thanks Jen for that extra ounce of courage we all need at bizarre times like these. Hugs to all who feel scared.

Yes. I’m learning to let myself create with no agenda in mind, just letting myself be ‘in’ the process. I usually come out feeling refreshed and relived.

Love all of this, Jen, especially your postcards! I have a bag of postcards in my closet, I may need to pull them out and start doing collage again. And, ordered my kitchen timer this week. :) Thanks for helping all of us feel less alone in the struggle to create. ❤️

you bet! thanks for reading! and the collaging is so fun and small, small is good right now. I splurged on a cutting mat (8 bucks) and an exacto knife, as my scissor skills are for shit.
